Specialist online Psychological and Psychosexual Therapy for women and their partners

Presence, Pleasure, Connection

About Me

Professionally

NHS trained Clinical Psychologist, accredited Psychosexual Therapist (COSRT), a European Society of Sexual Medicine (ESSM) certified Psychosexologist, and a mindfulness teacher (Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield’s two year Mindfulness Teacher training Programme, graduating in 2023).

Currently working as a Senior Psychologist in the Irish Health Services Executive (HSE) in a specialist Adult ADHD Clinic. This builds on my previous experience as lead clinician in psychosexual therapy, and health psychology services (including sexual health, general health psychology, specialist pain management, Sickle Cell, Urology and Bone Marrow Transplant Team) in NHS services in London, Oxford and Derbyshire. I also worked for several years at the Oxford University Student Counselling Service, in addition to Children and Adult Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in the UK and Ireland.

I’m experienced in working with clients with various psychosexual presentations, in addition to health conditions such as cancer, and have worked with clients across the lifespan from 16 years to 80s. I like to engage with mindfulness and compassion-based approaches to help clients develop presence, connection, and pleasure in their intimate lives whether with a partner or not. My approach is trauma sensitive and gentle and curious.

About Me

Personally

During the final year of my undergraduate degree in UCC (2005-2006), a Human Sexuality module taught by Dr Sean Hammond  led to my interest in this area, and in particular female sexuality. Following my final year dissertation, a qualitative study on the experience of female orgasm, I decided to specialise in human sexuality when I ‘grew up’…this happened many moons later!

COVID, like for many people, led me to question my values in life. I made the decision to move back to Ireland after 12 years living in various places in the UK and to relocate to the West Coast of Ireland with my Scottish husband and Irish Terrier Rusty for a better quality of life. Where you’ll find me… walking along the coast, sea dips, sea weed baths, hiking a mountain.

I feel it is essential to embody the practices I teach. I see nature as both teacher and healer that helps us to connect with our own natural seasons and patterns in our lives and relationships. While moving west my mindful compassion practices helped me to adjust and re-centre during many challenging experiences.

Specialist Psychological Therapy

I bring my clinical training and expertise in clinical psychology, psychosexual therapy, and mindfulness to therapeutic work with clients. As I am trained in a variety of different models, I use an integrative and adaptive approach to therapy according to the needs and goals of my clients.

I am passionate about working with women and their partners and at this time I am accepting referrals from female clients.
